Artists Books
Just A Second
'Just a Second' refers to the split second in which we participate in a stranger's life by taking a photograph or capturing an image in our imagination.
Each one of these images used to create the book is a single linoprint and is a moment captured in time. The books is made of a series of linoprints with popup figures printed on Fabriano Rosapina paper.
Fifty Shades of Green
This print is part of a body of work recently created at an artist's residency in Ireland at the Tyrone Guthrie Arts Centre, Lake Annaghmakerrig.
Thinking Of Place
The concept of place refers to the unique, distinctive and cherished aspects of a physical space. It is in the invisible weave of culture and in the tangible physical aspects of a place and the interpersonal aspects, the presence of relatives and friends that we form our sense of place. This artist's book came about from contemplating what 'Thinking of Place' means.
Each one of the pages of this book is a single linoprint and attempts to create a visual narrative as to how a place, lived in or just visited, becomes part of what makes us who we are.
Great Cities
After my visit to Paris, where I had to establish a 'visual language' for buildings I became obsessed with creating linoprints and drawings of different cities. I then had quite a collection which of course evolved into an Artist's book.
I wanted to place people into the cities once again as a pop-up, because they are an integral part of the landscape and give the city it's energy and vitality.
The book is printed on Hosho paper.
